Edite Ten Jua

Is the President and founder of the Foundation that bears her name — an institution deeply committed to shaping new generations of leaders, with a special focus on the empowerment of women.

More than a political or institutional figure, Edite Ten Jua is a woman of purpose, driven by the belief that Africa’s transformation begins with creating real opportunities for young people — especially women — to step into decision-making spaces and shape their societies.

Throughout her career, she has held high-level positions across the public and private sectors, as well as within international institutions. She served as Minister of Justice, Public Administration and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, and Vice-President of the Constitutional Court — positions from which she helped implement meaningful reforms in governance, transparency, and international cooperation.

Her leadership is grounded in a simple yet powerful principle:

To lead is to serve and to inspire.
